Short Bio

Ivan Llanes is a Cuban-American percussionist, vocalist, and composer based in New York City. His music blends Afro-Cuban traditions with jazz, Brazilian rhythms, and Soul, creating a vibrant and rhythm-driven sound.

 

His debut album La Vida Misma earned a Cubadisco Award nomination for its artistic impact. Llanes has performed at venues and festivals including Joe’s Pub, National Sawdust, The Bronx Museum, Times Square with Jazz at Lincoln Center, PASIC, Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana Cuba, Festival 2 de Julho in Salvador Brazil, and will appear as part of Carnegie Hall’s Citywide Series with his ensemble.
